P1Harmony is ready to welcome its boom. The six members—Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul and Jongseob—recently dropped a groovy, no skip EP that features all their different sides.
The mood of “Harmony: Set In” varies in each song as they express different feelings and perspectives. The EP includes genres like rock, hip-hop, and pop.
The lead track “Back Down” is a hip-hop number in which P1Harmony tells the listeners to never back down instead join forces and overcome things together. This track shows the members’ rap and vocal skills through a strong beat.
The second track BFF (Best Friends Forever) makes you dance as it features the members playful raps and stunning vocals. Tracks “Secret Sauce” and “One and Only” feature the groups’ cool side through confident beats and character filled lyrics.
The next track “The Child Who Swallowed the Sun (Look At Me Now)” consists of electronic sounds that give the song a pop rock feel. The last track “Better Together” reminds me of another P1Harmony song “Peacemaker” as they both end their respective EP with a softer emotional vibe.
The group’s last EP, “Harmony: Zero In,” and this EP are very similar. Both albums have six tracks and are made up of a variety of rap and vocal skills. The rock in this EP is what differentiates them.
Previous P1Harmony lead tracks have sounded similar and given off the same message. Therefore, the leading track was predictable, but the others bring the new sounds.
“Harmony: Set In” is worth listening to because it allows the listener to hear how P1harmony works with different genres. Their message feels repetitive, but I can tell that P1harmony is willing to expand and feature different perspectives and opinions in future albums.
