Custodian workers in our school are underappreciated and need to be given the respect and recognition they deserve.

Custodians work many hours everyday and get paid very little. Their job can include cleaning bodily fluids, lifting heavy bags of trash, dealing with old and disgusting food and much more.

These workers also get very little recognition for their work. People rarely comment on how clean the building is, but when someone misses taking out the trash it gets scrutinized. These jobs tend to be ignored and looked down upon by students even though their work is crucial to the overall condition of the building.

The custodians also battle severe understaffing. This causes them to work even longer hours with the same pay and unpleasant conditions.

Custodians work extremely hard daily to prevent disease and infection from spreading across campus, allowing for a safe and clean working environment.

It is time for students to recognize the work that these hard working and dedicated people do for us. We need to finally support these amazing people.
