‘Almost, Maine’ reignites Black Box productions
The lights came on in the Black Box theater for its first post-pandemic production on Oct. 7 with the play “Almost, Maine.”
Written by John Cariani, “Almost, Maine” is a collection of nine romantic stories that take place in an unorganized and remote town called Almost, Maine on a cold and snowy night. It addresses love and how feelings can change in the blink of an eye.
“The play was about the good, the bad, and the ugliness of love,” senior Anthony Mazzone said.
The theatre hasn’t had a production since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and therefore didn’t get to complete their season or begin the next one the following school year. For some of the actors, this is their first performance at Boswell.
“The last in-person play at Boswell was before I began attending this school,” sophomore Tyler Hyatt said.
Junior Logan Hofer said it felt good being back on stage.
“It was really fun, and if anyone wants to join in or feels like they would want to try, I would suggest trying it out,” Hofer said.
